Kinetic Chain Release (KCR) and Connective Tissue Release (CTR) are methods developed by Physiotherapist Hugh Gilbert.
Through gentle mobilisations and stretches, KCR can release tension from key joints throughout the body. This allows your posture to realign itself and naturally come into balance, so that movement becomes free and easy again. KCR can really help relieve symptoms of chronic pain conditions that often limit everyday movement.
KCR is a fully clothed and gentle experience, suitable for children and adults of any age. Athletes may find KCR a beneficial addition to their training regime.
If you have had KCR then our therapist, Janet Mclellan may suggest a follow up session of Connective Tissue Release (CTR). CTR is based on John Barnes Myofascial Release techniques and Hugh Gilbert further developed these creating a gentle and very effective method of further relieving tight adhesions in the connective tissues throughout the body. CTR is best applied following KCR, freeing physical and sometimes emotional restrictions in a deep yet relaxing and supportive way.
